DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to;

General responsibilities

  • Receive and dispatch containerized, Break bulk, loose bulk, Customs stops, Bonded shipments and LCL consignments.

  • Ensure proper order picking, preparation for delivery and collections.

  • Monitor Warehouse management system, operate a computer to capture data and correct errors.

  • Coordinate stock transfers with related departments.

  • Maintain storage area by organizing floor space,adhering to storage requirements and recommending improvements.

  • Manage equipment by enforcing proper operating instructions, reporting break downs and calling for repairs.

  • Monitor and coordinate activities prescribed in the safety management program.

  • Control stock movement in and out of the Warehouse.

  • Conduct regular stock counts.

  • Conduct on the job training.

  • Enforce good warehouse practices by ensuring that SOP and SWP are followed.

  • Operate tools, equipment and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.

  • Follow established safety procedures when performing duties such as lifting and climbing.

  • Report unsafe work conditions and practices and report deviations to the Warehouse Manager,SHERQ Officer.

  • Perform ad hoc duties that could include working in areas outside the normal scope and areas to provide support.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Warehousing or Supply Chain Management.

Experience

  • At least 3-4 years experience in a similar role in a warehouse setting.

  • Understanding of warehouse operations.

  • Proficiency in warehouse management software is an advantage.

Required skills

  • Good team skills to be able to work with others.

  • Abiltiy to multitask.

  • Good knowledge of record keeping.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
